Industrial Wastewater Treatment: Clarifiers

Wastewater clarifiers for separating water and solids

Clarifiers are used for settling solids out of a wastewater stream. They can be used on the water without any chemical treatment – natural settling – or the water can be treated with coagulant and polymer to achieve a faster settling rate. Clarifiers can be either round with a conical base or rectangular in shape. Baldwin fabricate stainless steel clarifiers that are ready to transport to site for ease of installation and integration into a wider treatment system.

Baldwin Industrial Systems also use the clarifier design as a combined reaction tank and clarifier when the situation allows. This can minimise the equipment needed to address the customer treatment requirements.

Clarifiers can be utilised as part a total treatment system which may involve other equipment such as Coalescing Plate Separators, DAF, Oil Skimmers or Filtration systems.

Clarifiers FAQs

Can clarifiers be used as part of other equipment?
Clarifiers can be used as part of your complete wastewater treatment system which may include other equipment such as coalescing plate separators, dissolved air flotation units or filtration systems.
How do wastewater clarifiers work?
A clarifier separates solids from water by using gravity to ensure the solids in the water settle on the bottom of the tank while the clarified water is drawn out of the top of the tank.
